Look up, look down.

Cardigan: ASOS
Denim Shirt: H&M (menswear)
Leggings: Topshop
Belt: ASOS
Wedges: ASOS
Bag: Chanel (not mine!)

Oh ASOS, you are the Ginger to my Fred, the Laurel to my Hardy, the Sandy to my Danny.... though my bank account may not feel the same way.  I love love love my new ASOS blanket cardigan.  So it looks a bit like the poncho from Ugly Betty, so what.  It's so warm and I just want to throw it on over everything, it genuinely is like a blanket with arm holes!

The wedges came in the same order and they are my new favourite going out shoes.  I had been eyeing them up for ages and when I saw a picture of them in a post by Chloe over at The Hollywood Heels I decided it was fate.  They are super high (aptly named 'tower wedges') but they are also super comfortable.  I have to say that ASOS have outdone themselves this month with the array of offer they have had on, I got the wedges for £33 (reduced from £60) in one of their flash sales.  The trick is to 'save for later' and check your list everytime there is an offer on, that way you can see if the things you really want have been reduced without: a) having to trawl through hundreds of items and b) putting other things that you 'need' in your basket while you are attempting to find the item you saw earlier.

I probably won't post again until after Christmas, so have a Happy Christmas everyone! Eat too much turkey, drink to much wine and generally be merry!  I will be doing a giveaway after Christmas to celebrate getting 50 followers so look out for it!

If you want to you got the Green Light

Hello sweets!  As I have had so many lovely comments on my Lovely Leather Leggings post and as I have hit the 50 followers milestone (thank you!) I thought I would do a FOTD of the make-up I wore that night.  I have done this look a few times and it is actually inspired by Beyonce's Green Light Video, though this time I decided to use a baby pink lip instead of the usual bright pink as I felt it went with my outfit a bit better.

Lovely Leather Leggings

I am loving leather trousers at the moment however they are pretty unforgiving so I went for leather look leggings which have jersey panels, bondage jodhpurs if you will.  They are from ASOS and I adore them! No bagging around the knees, no unfortunate crotch sagging, no muffin tops! Winner!

Blouse: New Look
Leggings: ASOS
Shoes: Kurt Geiger
Bag: Republic

Take a look at this bag, it is amazing!  My mum spotted it and as she knows most things I own have skulls emblazoned on them she excitedly told me to buy it!  It was £35 and in my opinion looks far more expensive.  I have always wanted a Thomas Wylde bag but I definitely cannot afford the hefty price tag, this is Thomas Wylde style but a fraction of the price, I am in love!  One thing I will say, it isn't leather which annoyed me slightly for the price but by then I was sold.

Rings: Green Stone ring I picked up in Mykanos and the Armor ring is ASOS
Nail Varnish: Barry M Indigo

WAH Inspired Nails

For those of you who may have not heard of WAH they are a 'badass nail salon' based in London who specialize in seriously cool nail art.  They have recently opened up a branch in the basement of Topshop on Oxford Street and as I haven't had time to go down there yet I thought I would create a WAH inspired look!

Here is the original WAH look that I attempted to recreate though I didn't have the skill for the Hello Kitty!

Some more of WAH's amazing nail art:

These pictures have me longing to book an appointment to get my nails done at WAH, I quite fancy the 'POW' design though their website is full nail art ideas (here)! So that you can recreate the WAH look in your own home WAH teamed up with Models Own to produce a nail art pen (I haven't tried it but it is on my Christmas list), you can buy this from River Island or directly from Model's Own here. However, I cheated a bit and used an old Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliner brush and dipped it in my black nail varnish!

What do you think of my attempt at WAH nails? Has anyone experimented with nail art and has anyone actually tried the nail art pen?

Gaga Returns to MAC Viva Glam

As a self confessed 'Little Monster' and Gaga devotee I was excited to hear that Gaga will once again be working with MAC and this time she is doing it solo! According to WWD:

'MAC Cosmetics has signed Lady Gaga on for a second year as the spokeswoman for its Viva Glam campaign. Gaga teamed up with Cyndi Lauper for the 2010 campaign, which launched earlier this year. The company said the Gaga-Lauper campaign was the most successful ever for the MAC AIDS Fund, which has raised more than $190 million for the cause since its founding in 1994. For her solo turn in 2011, Gaga was shot by Nick Knight and styled by Nicola Formichetti.'

Check out the first promo photo:

Such a stunning photo and it seems that the range is going to be softer and more muted than the previous one if this is anything to go by.  I will definitely be purchasing from the range as I adore my Viva Glam Gaga lipstick

What do you think of Gaga? Do you think MAC made the right choice or should they have got a new face to front the campaign?

Baby Loves to Dance in the Dark

I absolutely adore this pigment pot, its MAC's Midnight Night from the Tartan range, I have worn it previously in my post about Eylure's Double Lashes (here) but as I put it on to go out last night I thought I would do a FOTD! You will have to excuse the lack of focus again, I have to stop taking pictures after I have had a couple!

(I also realise that in these photos I had forgot to put Mascara on my bottom lashes)

Walking in an ASOS wonderland

It's no secret that I love ASOS and spend hours trawling through the pages saving endless items to my favorites list and eventually cracking and purchasing them later.  However, to soften the blow the good people of ASOS have been very generous over the Christmas period and there are some great offers on!

There is currently 20% off all Christmas beauty.  These are my favourite picks for gift ideas (or perhaps just gifts for ourselves...)

Jelly Pong Pong Lash Extension & Shadow Taffy - The packaging is beautiful, I would definitely be happy if I got this as a gift.

Benefit The Fab Lane Make-up Set - A great looking gift that looks expensive and is now £10 off!

Soap & Glory Pink Bag - I would love this! Its jam packed with full size goodies and all for only £48!

ASOS also carries Illamasqua and you can currently get 20% off selected items.

As well as the 20% off Christmas beauty offer there is also 20% off selected brands including All Saints, Disney Couture, Paul's Boutique, Karen Millen and French Connection.

There is also free worldwide delivery for Christmas!

I have been a bad person and just spent far too much on ASOS, will do a haul as soon as I get it through!

Promise This Be The Last To Kiss My Lips

During the week I brought Mac's self named red lipstick, it reminded me a bit of Cheryl Cole's type of colour and I thought I'd give it a try! And low and behold after I decided to wear it on Friday night she had bright red lips on XFactor on Saturday!  Because of the bright lips I wanted to go for a bit more of a subtle look on the eyes and I added some fluttery lashes for a pin up style look.  Excuse the lack of focus in the pictures, I had had a glass of wine or two by then!

Winter Skin Savers

Now that the cold weather has set in so too has the dry skin.  I'm not sure if it is just me but I get seriously cracked hands in Winter and will do anything to try and stop it.  I have one product that I absolutely swear by, Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Skin Protectant.

Other than applying it on my hands its a great all round cream to apply on dry spots.  I use it on my lips, on the sides of my nose, on my elbows etc... also if you have very dry skin on your face you can also mix it with a bit of moisturiser.  The product is very rich and a little goes a long way, I have had my 30ml tub for nearly a year and theres still some left.

This is the little 30ml limited edition retro pot that I picked up last year for £16.

There has been some criticism of the smell and texture, firstly to me it does smell like a  cross between honey and petroleum jelly, I don't dislike the smell and probably would prefer it to something overly sweet.  With regard to the texture, it does have a greasy sheen to it but its a skin protectant so you get what you pay for.  The trick is not the slather it on, a little does go a long way and after you have applied it and allowed it to absorb this problem is solved!

My favourite time to apply it is in the evening so that I can let the product absorb overnight.  It's such a great cream with a variety of uses and I would recommend it to anyone that gets dry skin.  You can pick up the 50ml tube for £23 from Boots and although that might seem pricey it lasts forever!

On a side note, I am genuinely really upset that I have seen hardly any snow here in London!  I've heard some people have had about a foot of snow!  Whats it like in your area? And do you have any winter skin savers that you swear by?

Mulberry Competition

I got an email from the the lovely people at Mulberry the other day that included a competition they are running.  I thought I would mention it as I did a post on Mulberry the other day.  If you have an iPhone all you need to do is download the Mulberry app and you could be in with a chance of winning a Mulberry iPhone holder (which makes a cute little purse if you haven't got your iPhone in it). Or, if you are lucky enough to own an iPad you could win an iPad case.

I would also like to say thank you to my 20 followers! In celebration of this I had a little blog revamp! What do you think?

Polish and.... Polish?

I had my usual fight with myself yesterday over whether or not to go to Westfields - I have been avoiding the place like the plague due to lack of funds - but unfortunately common sense lost out and off I went.  I wondered into Topshop and after the success of my last Topshop nail varnish (review here) I went straight over to the make up section and made another purchase.  This time I went for 'Ruthless', a deep blood red colour (more on that later).  As I was looking for the varnish I saw something else labelled as polish that was in a round pot, and remember thinking that was a pretty stupid idea for nail varnish (hey I was tired).  But fortunately it was a rather cute lip gloss, or should I say lip 'polish'.

I went for a rather cute colour called 'Poetic' which is a shimmery pink  It gives a nude shimmer to lips and its not sticky.  It's great for an everyday bit of lip colour and I love the Topshop packaging - the little mirror is a great extra touch.

The nail varnish is also a gorgeous colour, maybe its because I'm in the festive mood but reminds me of mulled wine.

It is definately worth £5 if it remains as chip free as the last one!
