Basketcase Nails...

Hey Dolls!

I have massively been neglecting my nails recently so I thought that I would remedy the situation with a bit of nail art.  I am pretty bored of the leopard print design and thought that I would see if there was something else that would appeal to me.  As usual I had a browse of the WAH site (here) for inspiration. If you are bored of the same old colours and nail art I would completely recommend checking it out, there are some amazing ideas on there which can easily be replicated.

As I was looking through the different pics I came across a picture of stripe design called 'basketcase'.  The original picture (below my attempt) is gold with a blue stripe but as I had neither gold nor blue I thought I would just pick two of my colours at random.  I also came across a picture of Paloma Faith sporting WAH's basketcase design, her stripes are horizontal as opposed to diagonal, which in hindsight would have been easier to paint on, but I didn't see this till after I had already done one hand, annoying.

I just used a small paintbrush to paint on the stripes but I am there is probably a way to get a better line (by using tape or a stencil).  If you are going to do it freehand like me I would also say that this design is not for those who are wobbly of hand! My left hand isn't 'too' bad but its not perfect.

My attempt

WAH's basketcase nails

Here and below, Paloma Faith sporting the look.

Hope that you like! Also, does anyone have any suggestions for nail art patterns that I could try?  Nothing too difficult!

Wow, you definitely did that better than I ever could have - I have such an unsteady hand when it comes to nail art!

As for suggestions, 'gradient nails' (where the tip's a lighter colour and fades into a darker colour towards the base of the nail) or watercolour nails are two fairly easy techniques which always look incredibly impressive! I've probably done a horrid job of explaining them, but there are some great tutorials on YT!
